Game Overview 

Poughi is an upcoming online, turn-based strategy game that blends elements of tic-tac-toe, chess, and matryoshka dolls. Two players face each other on a 6×6 board, taking turns to place and move game pieces called Poughis.

At the start of a match, each player has six Poughis, divided into three sizes—small, medium, and large—with two Poughis per size. Size is a core mechanic: larger Poughis can cover smaller ones, introducing a layered, tactical dimension to positioning and movement.

The primary objective of the game is to form a line of three Poughis—horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

When a player successfully forms such a line, the game does not end immediately. Instead, the opposing player is granted one final turn to attempt to break the line. This can mainly be done by using a larger Poughi to cover one of the smaller Poughis in the completed line. If the opponent is unable to break the line during this last chance, the player who formed it wins the match.

Note : The currently available prototype is in local mode only !

Game Features

For now Poughi has :

• 12 playable pieces
• 1 match type

But in the future Poughi will have :

• Over 150 playable Poughis.
• 12 distinct match types, that include:
       1.   Normal Match: The standard competitive mode based on the core ruleset.
       2.   Draft Match: Players begin with no Poughis. At the start of each turn, they are offered three random Poughis and must select one to add to their hand before taking their turn.
       3.   Zombie Survival Match: A zombie Poughi is present on the board from the start and actively pursues players’ Poughis, converting them into zombies at the end of each turn. Instead of forming a line, the objective is to be the player with the last surviving Poughi.
• 3 game formats that support multiplayer ( 2, 3 and 4 players ).
• 2 PvP game modes ( casual and ranked ).
• 3 PvE game modes ( story, puzzle and casual ).
• Battle Ace System, that will reward players with the Battle Ace titles after they have consecutively defeated multiple opponents.  This status grants unique rewards—such as special Poughis and cosmetics—and public recognition through a dedicated leader board, but the title can be lost if the player does not play often.
• Player abilities, special actions that can be activated only once during the match, such as resetting the cooldown of a Poughi or returning a Poughi to your hand.
• Trading platform to exchange Poughis with other players.
• A leveling system and a collection system to track the player's progression.
• An in-game shop for Poughis, avatar cosmetics, custom mouse cursors and more.
• Full-body Avatars that can be customized with cosmetics and animations.
• Weekly quests
